Website Redesign Launch
We’re delighted to welcome you to the newly redesigned West Mid GP Training Scheme website.
The aim of the new site is simple: to make it much easier to find the information you need, when you need it. Whether you’re checking the teaching timetable, looking for guidance and resources, catching up on what’s happening across the scheme or accessing the protected Trainee and Educator member areas, everything should now be much quicker and easier to navigate.
You’ll still find many of the useful resources that have always been part of the West Mid website, but they’ve been reorganised, updated and brought together in a much clearer way. We’ve also added some new tools and guidance along the way, including improved teaching information, trainee resources, ePortfolio guidance, clinical resources, wellbeing support and a new Community area celebrating life across West Mid.
The website has been designed around the way trainees and trainers actually use it — often arriving with a particular question or task and wanting to find the answer quickly. Our hope is that it becomes your go-to place throughout training for teaching information, useful guidance, resources and everything West Mid.
Have a look around, explore the new sections, and we hope you find the new site useful.

UUSC / OOH Induction Process
Attention GP Trainees Starting or Continuing in GP Placements in August 2026!
This post is for all trainees starting a GP placement in August 2026, as well as those already in a GP placement who have not yet registered to book out-of-hours shifts with Practice Plus Group (PPG).
The GP VTS August 2026 induction presentation is attached below. You will need to be registered with PPG to book telephone, base, and home-visit shifts. It is recommended that you participate in one shift per month during your placement to meet the competencies for Urgent and Unscheduled Care, which is part of the RCGP curriculum. This time can be claimed back as Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) from your home GP practice.
The induction video is 1.5 hours long and must be watched in full, as it provides important information about registering with PPG and the supervision practices in place.
To ensure there are no delays in receiving your login details, please complete and submit the forms as soon as you have watched the video and no later than 30th September 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted and you will have to make your own arrangement to fulfil the UUSC requirements. Forms should be sent to LondonRotaTeam@practiceplusgroup.com

Online PSU Workshops Focusing on Burnout
Unrealistic workloads, unrelenting workplace pressures, inadequate access to timely support and problematic workplace cultures are significant contributing factors for burnout nevertheless healthcare practitioners are often left to feel that it is a personal failure or lacking that results in their symptoms of burnout. Many don’t recognise the features at all until it has significant impact on their health, relationships, sense of self and livelihood.
In this series of short 3-hour workshops we hope to create an informal and confidential space for participants to pause and think about features of burnout and how they may address them.
Overview
These workshops will introduce you to the beginnings of a CBT informed approach to spotting and addressing burnout. We will invite you to consider what is within your control to change or influence. This will include thinking about some deeply held beliefs (such as Imposter Phenomenon), expectations or perfectionist tendencies, anxieties about risk and negative cognitive distortions impacting your approach to work and wider boundaries.
Both evening and Saturday workshop options are being offered for flexibility.
Interested?
Please see the attached flyer for further information and booking details.
